To the Overcomer

In this world you have trials

Walking My path will prove hard

An enemy not made of flesh

Waits for a relaxed guard

Requires perseverance

As shown by Him with pierc’d hands

But I will grant this to the one

Who overcomes and stands:

The tree of life bears good fruit

And its leaves great healing bring

The overcomer may eat here

Where Lamb’s praises all sing

The second death is coming

This, the death to truly fear

But it cannot hurt My servant, safe

Beyond the vale of tears

I’ll give to him a white stone

With a new name on its face

Known only to the receiver

And the One bestowing grace

Authority I give him

O’er the nations, iron rule

Mirroring My authority

Morn’s Star his given jewel

White garments now adorning

From Life’s Book unerased

Name written, name confessed before

God’s angels and God’s face

I’ll make of him a pillar

In the temple of my God

He’ll not go out from there again

With those bought by the blood

My God’s name written on him

And the name of His city

Just one name more, the Son’s new name

Thus known as Mine he’ll be

I’ll grant this overcomer

My throne with Me to sit down

As, overcoming also, sit

On My Father’s throne

The Enthroned One makes all new

Gives life’s water without cost

Dwelling always among men

He grants this last, this most:

Identity is altered

Ever I will be His God

And he, once mortal, now God’s son

This prize his highest good
